Bumpy to smooth

We had a very restless night at anchor in what was a very idyllic but not ideal spot. In fact it was so bumpy that the anchor got bent
We left at first light and had a brilliant day going to the Humber both with and against the tide and certainly against the wind
We passed several overfalls as shown in another suitably boring photoWe arrived at Spurn Head to be told that we could not enter Grimsby Harbour until 11.30 tonight

However after phoning the lock keeper we were given privileged access to the lock ) at a price) and found ourselves in the lovely calm and welcoming waters of the Humber Cruising Associatiom. Not only that, a member, who somehow knew that my friend Steve was in desperate need of a beer, agreed to open the bar just for us and served beer for £1.70 a pint

What a brilliant ending to a full 48 hours  without stepping on dry or even flat land
Tomorrow we are having more in house trading and reflection prior to Jane’s arrival
