This is a big fresh water lake with lots of boats and a maximum 3 metres of water. The depth sounder tells me when the boat is aground and thankfully my friend Gough who went a bit quiet at times when it read zero today experienced its benefit to its full extent.
We didn't run aground!
Makkum is a very sleepy place where we all have eaten too much in anticipation of a trip to the Frisian Islands tomorrow.
